He received his B.S. in chemical physics from the <strong>University of Science and Technology of China<\/strong> (USTC) at Hefei in 1998, and his Ph.D. in chemistry from the <strong>University of California at Berkeley<\/strong> with Professor Peidong Yang in 2003. He then did his postdoctoral research with Professor Galen D. Stucky at the <strong>University of California, Santa Barbara<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Prof. Yiying Wu joined the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry of OSU in 2005, was promoted to associate professor in 2011 and to full professor in 2014. He received a <a href=\"http:\/\/rescorp.org\/search\/e017a4ff9fbe4b5dd2fef6e6b1255a71\/\">Cottrell Scholar Award<\/a> from Research Corporation in 2008, an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nsf.gov\/mps\/dmr\/highlights\/10highlights\/ssmc.jsp\">NSF Career Award<\/a> from National Science Foundation in 2010, and a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.capachembiol.org\/capaawards.htm\">CAPA Biomatik Distinguished Faculty Award<\/a> in 2014. Commissioner Brooks of the Franklin County of Ohio also award Prof. Yiying Wu a <a href=\"https:\/\/research.cbc.osu.edu\/wu.531\/2015\/01\/06\/commissioners-award\/\">Commissioner\u2019s Award<\/a> for his contribution in renewable energy technologies. In 2011, he was ranked <em>#6<\/em> worldwide on the Times Higher Education \u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/homepages.rpi.edu\/~schadl\/Top%20Materials%20Scientists.pdf\">Top Materials Scientists of the Past Decade<\/a>\u201d. In 2014, Wu group founded <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/KAirBattery\/\">KAir Battery, LLC<\/a> for the research and development of KAir battery technology. In 2015, Dr. Wu was named <a href=\"http:\/\/midwestenergynews.com\/4040_2015list\/\">40 under 40<\/a> by Midwest Energy News.
