THE JOHN S. SWENTON TEACHING AWARD . . .

This award is designed to be an ongoing tribute to Dr. Swenton’s distinguished career of research, teaching and service. It especially recognizes his dedication to the teaching of undergraduate and graduate students and his service as a mentor for numerous students and faculty at OSU. This includes advising 34 Ph.D. students, 17 master’s degree students, and nine bachelor honor students. The Ohio State University Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry gratefully acknowledges the financial support of students, colleagues and friends whose generous contributions have made the John S. Swenton Award possible.

The Swenton Award is given annually to graduate students who are members of the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry in recognition of their outstanding teaching in the department. Two awards are given annually, each consisting of a $500.00 honorarium.
