Mingzhe’s paper on the lithium-iodine solar flow battery has been accepted by JACS(Highlighted by Nature Chemistry).
Other coauthors include Billy, Damian, Zhongjie and Xiaodi. This works enables the integration between photoelectrodes and flow batteries for solar-chargeable flow batteries.
Ben passed his candidacy. Also, Damian has been selected to participate in the 2015 SciFinder® Future Leaders in Chemistry program (only 20 recipients around the world)! Congrats to them!

Tom Draskovic’s paper on CuScO2 has been accepted by Inorganic Chemistry.
Xiaodi has been awarded a Presidential Fellowship by the Graduate School. This is the highest honor for a graduate student at OSU. This is the 2nd awardee from the group within half a year.
Xuanxuan’s paper on Na-O2 battery has been accepted by ChemComm. This is her first 1st-author paper in this group! Zhongjie and Mingfu’s paper on dye-controlled interfacial electron transfer on ITO nanoparticles has been accepted by Angewandte Chemie. This work provides a new way to think about dye-sensitized solar cells.
Dr. Wu co-organized the “Nanomaterials for Solar Energy Conversion & Storage” symposium in 249th ACS national meeting, Denver, CO. Some of the former Peidong Yang group members had a reunion.
The first graduate student from Wu group, Yanguang Li, received a “the 1000 plan for youth” award in China. He is now a full professor in Soochow University.
