Danielle Chirdon
Danielle is from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and earned her BS in chemistry in 2010 from the University of Pittsburgh, where she used infrared spectroscopy to understand CO2 interactions with carbon capture and sequestration materials. In 2016, she earned her PhD in chemistry from Carnegie Mellon. Her PhD thesis focused on developing iridium-based photosensitizers and photocatalysts for solar fuel production in homogeneous systems. Danielle joined the Wu group as a postdoc in February 2017 and is interested in developing photocathodes for DSPECs and molecular hydrogen-evolving catalysts. Outside of chemistry, she enjoys traveling and rooting for the Pittsburgh Penguins hockey team. LinkedIn
